This online database has been established to assist in compiling descendant books for the various Tarvin lines. So far, we have published four books covering four of the thirteen children of Rev. George Tarvin: Lines 1, 3, 7, and 10. Names in this database are primarily in lines not yet published in book form, including some of the so-called William Tarvin lines. As these various lines become better defined, we will go back and add information on Tarvins in the previously-published books and use this database to keep the books up to date. Until then, you can find names of people in those books at the Tarvin Book Index search tool on this site.

Note that we are using the Title field to carry the Tarvin decendancy number. Rev. George descendants have been identified in this way for some time. We are just now assigning numbers to members of the other trees in a similar fashion. You can see these numbers in action by clicking on the "numbered decendants" links on the left.

At present, the trees for William II, Reddick, William J., and Churchwell Tarvin in this database presentation are not connected to the Rev. George tree because their relationship is not yet clear. We believe they may be descendants of our fabled William Tarvin, uncle to Rev. George, but we have not yet found sufficient documentation. Contributors to this project may give us the clues we need to make those connections.

We are also happy to link to a sister online database maintained by Amanda Ingram which includes data on the descendants of Richard Turvin, probably a son of William, who came to Georgia. While the spelling is different, we are quite sure these people are cousins to the Tarvins.
